Heathrow Terminal 5

Heathrow Terminal 5

H. Guntner UK Limited has recently completed the final instalment of special air heater/coolers for Terminal 5 bring the total installed to 198 units. Challenged to provide a robust, reliant, and resilient product for operation within a demanding and restricted access area, the market leading manufacturer exceeded the remit with the added benefit of being a low maintenance, low cost solution.

By using specially designed air coolers, Guntner was able to condition an area with the option to both heat and cool from a single machine. With a combination of industrial fin material, enlarged fin spacing, and "sealed for life" axial fan/motor assemblies the units are a low cost alternative to air handlings units. With no need for conventional filters or the need for regular maintenance the air cooler/heaters have proved popular and are in use on Concourse A, B & C.

Utilising 0.25 mm thick industrial grade fin material and 7 mm fin pitch, the coils were designed to allow dust and other airborne particles to pass through the unit without concern of damage to the coil or fins. Additionally the units were offered with an option for a duct work connection plate enabling the discharge air to be ducted.
