Guntner Group celebrates 80 year anniversary

Guntner heat exchanger technology is based on 80 years of experience: development of a "one-man" repair shop to a globally active corporate group.

Since its foundation as repair shop for refrigerating units in 1931 by Hans Guntner, the company has continuously developed further. Today Guntner is globally present with 6 manufacturing sites on 3 continents and over 40 affiliated and non-affiliated sales representations. During its entire development, Guntner always focussed on three topics: the employee, the proximity to the customer and, last but not least, the diverse range of high quality products.

Foundation of the company as repair shop

All started 80 years ago, when Hans Guntner founded a small repair shop for refrigerating units in Munich. With the growing demand of refrigerating installations, the small shop quickly developed to a company with more than 100 employees.

Global orientation

Soon the growing company needed more space and thus moved in the 1980s to its new headquarters in Furstenfeldbruck, nearby Munich. This was the beginning of a more global orientation: soon also production capacity in Furstenfeldbruck couldn't satisfy the market's demand anymore, so a second factory was acquired and built up in Hungary, today Guntner's main production facility in Europe. This was followed by the foundation of 3 further manufacturing sites with which Guntner assures its proximity to the local markets until today. In 1993, the factory in Russia was founded, followed by the factory in Indonesia in 1996. For optimally serving the specific demands of the American market, the factory in Mexico was founded in 2002.

Today the Guntner Group has over 2500 employees and is one of the leading manufacturers of heat exchanger components.

Factors for success at Guntner

But during all its continuous growth and development, Guntner always stayed loyal to its principles:

The employee plays a very important role at Guntner. Worldwide presence and growth of the company never have interfered with the informal working atmosphere at Guntner and this also has a positive impact on the communication with the customer. Only an employee, who is convinced of the products and who values the company, can transfer this conviction to the customer.

Customer orientation and proximity to the customer through personal consultancy have also always been very important, up to the present day. To know and understand precisely the customers' needs for the development and optimization of the products is a firmly anchored objective at Guntner. The products and services of Guntner for refrigeration and air conditioning technology are in high demand world-wide in different sectors. Installations all over the world for industrial and commercial refrigeration, air conditioning and energy and process cooling are equipped with Guntner components.

Besides the importance of the employee and customer orientation, the third important factor for success at Guntner is the diversified range of high quality products, consisting of heat exchangers in different technologies and control components. Guntner always secured its position in the market with this wide range of specialized products that is continually optimized by highly motivated and qualified employees.
