Adiabatic Dry Coolers

Guntner offer a standard factory fitted adiabatic option which comprises a series of specialized water nozzles fitted below each fan. The nozzles are designed to pulverize the water and provide a very fine mist of atomised water droplets which are readily absorbed by the high temperature ambient air approaching the coil.

The effect of introducing saturated air onto the coil lowers the theoretical dry bulb temperature and increases the total heat rejection from the dry cooler at high ambient conditions. The use of Adiabatic Dry Coolers is particularly beneficial where space is limited, or where the condenser water temperatures are low. Free cooling may also be enhanced with the adiabatic option.

The spray is designed for use during the limited number of days in the UK when the ambient temperatures are high, and is generally enabled by an ambient thermostat and return water temperature thermostat. The spray requires mains water at approximately 2 - 3 bar pressure and considerate of the water consumption, units are not designed for all year round use.
